Nitrous oxide is often referred to as laughing gas or happy gas for its relaxing effect on patients. At the dental practice of Dennis K. How does nitrous oxide work?

Nitrous oxide is simple, safe, and effective. Because nitrous oxide is a breathable gas, you just need to sit back, relax, and start breathing in through the nitrous oxide mask we give you. The nitrous oxide is mixed with a higher percentage of oxygen to ensure your safety. Within five minutes, you will have a warm, happy feeling spread throughout your entire body. Sometimes, it causes people to giggle, hence the name laughing gas. Tingling and floating sensations are also common.
